CAMP HOSTS

We love Camp Hosts and work campers.  At the front of the park we prefer couples who can do it all.  One helps greet guests and keeps the park looking nice, the other does outdoor work and maintenance.   Individuals with professional attitudes and maintenance skills are also appreciated.

FLEXIBLE CAMP HOST POSITIONS

Come for a month, a season or maybe longer.  We're flexible!  Just let us know when you would like to be on the calendar.

WORK-EXCHANGE     15 hrs/week each or 30 hours combined for couples      Some work less and pay utilities.

Enjoy a lovely oversized paved site on the river, with full hook-ups, wifi and Bath House and free laundry.   Most work is outside, though one of you might stay near the camper some afternoons to help greet guests. Can trade days with other Camp Hosts.    We are 30 min from the small town of Yreka.  Please do not ask if we know where you can get a job.  We like Camp Hosts with friendly attitudes and a cleanly appearance. No smoking on duty.  Your camper should also look respectable with no clutter, and no aggressive dogs that bark at guests or wild horses roaming around.       PAY  negotiable for additional hrs or special projects.

SCHEDULE:

Each Camp Host couple comes with different skills, so schedules can vary.  In the afternoon, there are always guests to check in.   If you have handyman skills, we may put you to work on irrigation projects.  Trade time with other camp hosts so you have 2-3 days off per week.

Possible duties:

  • Guide guests to their spaces and give them info

  • Weed eating or weed pulling, as needed.  Horses do the mowing!

  • Help with  watering, raking, and basic upkeep of the grounds

  • Clean Bath House and laundry room.  Sweep around the building or hose off bird droppings.

  • Clean up after the wild horses!

  • Move rocks, split wood, help with irrigation or do special projects with your unique skills.

REQUIREMENTS

Must have a nice looking camper and a truck to pull it.  No tent camping in your truck.

Must be able to keep a tidy space, and your pets under control, not barking at wild horses or guests.

Must have enough money in the bank to appreciate a free space worth $1,000/mo but no pay

Must have good physical health to work outdoors and be able to stay alert all afternoon to greet guests.

Must maintain a nice modest appearance and refrain from smoking, swearing and drinking around guests.

Must be a problem-solver not a problem spreader.   We appreciate those with positive vibes who get along with everyone.

Must enjoy wild horses and be willing to pick up after them.  We call it soil amendment.

LOCATION

Our location is open range country near the CA/OR border.  Wild horses roam through our park and are a big draw.

Nearby Hornbrook has a tiny store, a pizza place, and local meets sold at the Chevron.

For more shopping, Yreka is 27 minutes away.   40 min to Ashland and Shakespeare Festival.  60 min to international airport in Medford

Less than 2 hours to Crater Lake.  1 hour to Mt. Shasta.  4 hours to the coast.

This park is a wonderful, unique place where guests love to return again and again.

If you have a great attitude and love to work outdoors, we hope you will get on our calendar

for a month or a season.  If you are a good fit, maybe longer!
